WHEN DID YOU COME TO SHELBINA?

My family and I moved to Shelbina in May 2018. Previously, I served as the Preaching Minister at First Christian Church in Belle, MO, for 15 years. We are excited to be here and are honored to serve with the great people at Shelbina Christian.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR FAMILY

I got to marry my high school sweetheart, Rebecca, on December 18, 2004. We have three children: Cooper (12), Hadley (8), and Wyatt (3).

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB?

I worked in a miserably hot factory that bound textbooks during the summer when I was in high school.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST VEHICLE?

1989 GMC S-15. It once broke down in the church parking lot and remained there for nearly a month. I still can’t believe they didn’t have it towed to the junkyard. I wouldn’t have blamed them.

DO YOU HAVE ANY HOBBIES?

Rebecca and I run a lot together – typically training for a half marathon or something similar. I love to go backpacking on the Ozark Trail in southern Missouri and have a deep-seated desire to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail someday before my legs are shot.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

Hearing others share their stories about how God changed their life. Watching someone accomplish their goals. Listening to my wife sing. Movies, books, and stories of real-life dilemmas being overcome get me every time!

COST ASIDE, WHERE WOULD YOU GO ON VACATION? AND WHO WITH?

My mom grew up in Germany. I’ve always wanted to go back there with her. And sharing that experience with my kids would be very fulfilling.

READ ANYTHING GREAT LATELY?

Dirt Matters by Jim Powell has been a great challenging read – helping me evaluate my approach to ministry and church-culture. I also recently picked up Mark Moore’s new book, Core 52
